El Centro de Estudios\u00a0 Estrat\u00e9gicos de Derecho de la Inteligencia Artificial (CEEDIA), es una organizaci\u00f3n independiente, con presencia en la ciudad de Washington, D.C. (USA); Buenos Aires (Argentina), Santiago y Valpara\u00edso (Chile), fundada\u00a0 en 2021, cuya misi\u00f3n principal es analizar y promover el desarrollo de\u00a0 regulaciones \u00e9ticas y jur\u00eddicas de la Inteligencia Artificial (IA) en Latinoam\u00e9rica en armon\u00eda con los est\u00e1ndares internacionales de derechos humanos. Asimismo, el CEEDIA\u00a0 observa y analiza el estado del arte en USA y Europa.<\/p>

CEEDIA tiene por misi\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n promover el desarrollo de la IA en funci\u00f3n de la sustentabilidad de la humanidad. Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Labor Law, in the Master’s program in Labor and Social Security Law at the Law School of the University of Chile. Researcher in AI in the field of AI Law and Labor Law. There are four lines of research that he is developing: (a) Foundations and principles of AI Law; (b) Impact of AI on Labor Law; (c) Relations between employment, economics and labor law in the information age and (d) Evolutionary changes and adaptability of Labor Law to social transformations: towards a right to employment. His areas of expertise are fundamental rights, the judiciary, and theory of legal interpretation. He has a strong commitment to teaching topics in the legal profession, having developed the experiential learning program for judges and other members of the Judiciary as director of the Judicial Academy of Chile from 2011 to 2018. She is a professor in charge of Artificial Intelligence at the FCEFyN of the UNC and at various Postgraduate Programs in the country. She directs and has directed graduate and postgraduate theses. She directs program and research project-SECyT-UNC. She has participated (member of the academic committee, organizer, guest speaker, exhibitor, author and \/ or director of works) in national and international scientific, technological events, and published in books, magazines and other media. She is a Member of the Laboratory of Innovation and Artificial Intelligence of the University of Buenos Aires as an Expert Researcher in Artificial Intelligence by appointment, within the framework of the topics addressed there; of the Ibero-American Network of Researchers on Appropriation of Technology (RIAT) and of the University Department of Informatics – UNC. He is one of the most prominent Chilean scientists in the field of AI. He is currently a tenured professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences of the Adolfo Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez University (UAI), Santiago, Chile, where he also directs the Master’s program in AI. He obtained his PhD in AI from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland (UK), in 2004; and a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Computer Science from the Federico Santa Mar\u00eda Technical University, Valpara\u00edso, Chile. In the last 25 years he has been involved in teaching, research and consulting in Chile and universities and research centers worldwide. He has also led several scientific and technological projects financed by national and international agencies and private companies.<\/p>

In 2010, he received the ACM Senior Member Award for his international contributions to computer science in the scientific and practical aspect.<\/p>

He is actively involved in basic and applied research in the areas of natural language processing, text mining, machine learning, among other fields of AI. Some of his research has now been applied to tackle complex problems in private companies, including intelligent text mining and analytics, predictive models for fraud detection, opinion mining, intelligent interfaces, and question-answering systems.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Elsa Estevez is the chair holder of the UNESCO Chair on Knowledge Societies and Digital Governance at Universidad Nacional del Sur, an Independent Researcher at the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET), and Full Professor at the National University of La Plata, all in Argentina. She is also a consultant for Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) on the matters of digital government, particularly in Latin America. Previously, she was a Senior Academic Program Officer and Academic Program Officer at the United Nations University (UNU) in Macao and Portugal; Visiting Professor at the National University of Rio Negro, Argentina; Gdansk University of Technology, Poland; University of Minho, Portugal; and head of Information Technology (IT) departments in large financial and pharmaceutical organizations in Argentina. She consulted for governments, taught to public managers and policy makers, and organized events about digital government in over 30, mostly developing countries. Her research interests cover the structuring of the information technology function in government, digital transformation of government-citizen relationships, and the impact of such transformation on nations’ and cities’ capacity to pursue sustainable development. Prof. Enzo Maria Le Fevre, Ph.D.,\u00a0is Project Manager in the\u00a0EU Commission’s Department for Informatics (DG DIGIT)\u00a0leading the digital collaborative tools and supporting the Innovation Lab of the European Commission.\u00a0He is also a Senior Research Fellow\u00a0on international practices of digital governance\u00a0at the Laboratory on Innovation and Artificial Intelligence of the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Senior Lecturer of Diplomacy and Negotiation at the LUISS University (Italy).\u00a0Between 2017 and 2020 served as Senior Expert at the Agency for Digital Italy – Presidency of the Council of Ministers (AGID) and Coordinator of the Thematic Group on Emerging Technologies (AI & Blockchain) of the OECD Working Party of Senior Digital Government Officials\u00a0(E-Leaders). He was a peer of the OECD Digital Government Reports of Colombia and Brazil.\u00a0In 2018 he was among the drafters of the Italian White Paper on the use of Artificial Intelligence at the service of the citizens and in 2019 of the Italian Strategy for Artificial Intelligence. In 2021 he was appointed member of the United Nations Expert Group on Digital Transformation in the Public Sector promoted by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
Currently board member of Adriano Olivetti Foundation, he holds a Ph.D. in International and European studies with a focus on international law and theory of the state, an MA in International Relations (with honours), and a postgraduate specialization in International Law and Public Law.
